Alan Dershowitz, a professor at Harvard Law School stated his own view of The United States’ abstention for the United Nations’ vote that damaged Israel
Liberal attorney Alan Dershowitz, a professor emeritus over at Harvard Law School, comes with his personal view of America’s abstention for the UN vote that damaged Israel.
” What he (Obama) did was so nasty. He pulled a bait-and-switch. He said to the American public: This is all about the settlements deep in the West Bank. And yet he allowed his representative to the U.N. abstain, which is really [support] for, a resolution that says the Jews can’t pray at the Western Wall, Jewish … students can’t go to Hebrew University, Jewish and Arab patients can’t go to Hadassah hospital, Jews can’t live in the Jewish Quarter, where they’ve lived for thousands of years, and he’s going to say, ‘Whoops, I didn’t mean that.’
” Well, read the resolution!” Dershowitz said. “You’re a lawyer!”
The resolution approved with 14 to 0, and The U,S, stayed away from voting. The UN requires that 9 out of 15 Security Council members support the resolution, as well as no vetoes, of course.
Obama didn’t veto the resolution, and Israel got pierced in the back.
Alan Dershowitz recalls how Obama assured to safeguard Israel.
“I didn’t realize what [Obama] meant is that he would have their back to stab them,” Dershowitz said.
He took note that it will be a lot harder to deal with the situation in the Middle East.
