Megyn Kelly lighted up the social media with tweets about her leaving Fox News and joining NBC News and said that she will miss her coleagues but is very happy to join NBC News.
Some people stated that they are happy that she leaves Fox News, some even accused her of racism, but there were also people who fully support her.
From Western Journalism:
Social media was burning up with the headlines Tuesday that Megyn Kelly is leaving her job as a Fox News host and will be signing up with NBC News.
In a Facebook post Tuesday, Kelly stated, “While I will greatly miss my colleagues at Fox, I am delighted to be joining the NBC News family and taking on a new challenge.”
” Over a dozen years ago I started at Fox News in a job that would change my life. Now, I have decided to end my time at FNC, incredibly enriched for the experiences I’ve had. I have agreed to join NBC News, where I will be launching a new daytime show Monday through Friday, along with a Sunday evening news magazine program,” Kelly wrote.
Nevertheless, many people who reacted to Kelly’s Facebook post said they weren’t sad to see her leave behind Fox, with huge numbers of them mentioning her treatment of President-elect Donald Trump throughout the campaign.
” You betrayed your viewers. You disrespected our President-elect. Worst of all, you misrepresented who you really were all these years. With all of the energy I can muster, good riddance. You deserve a second rate news program,” published Brandon Stanley, who got more than 3,900 likes for his comment.
Sharlene Basch, another individual disturbed with Kelly, said: “I liked you when you were first on FNC. Then, you got too big for your britches and I only watched you occasionally. FNC has many very qualified people to take your place so, your leaving will not be a loss to FNC. I never watch NBC, ever, so, you are lost and gone forever to me!!!!!!!!!!!!”
The exact same was true on Twitter.
@megynkelly This is a great day for all Megyn. You’re at a Liberal news station and we no longer have to hear your anti-Trump crap on Fox.

@megynkelly I used to think you were great, but then your ego grew enormously, you stopped respecting guest & were condescending and rude.

Things weren’t much greater for Kelly with liberals, some of whom upbraided her for comments she had made on Fox.
Tyler Coates, culture editor of Esquire magazine, implicated Kelly of racism.
Is Megyn Kelly going to be less of a racist on NBC?

Slate Chief Political Correspondent Jamelle Bouie shared similar beliefs.
I wonder if Megyn Kelly will bring her obsession with the New Black Panthers and the “real racism” to NBC News?

Several, however, wished Kelly well and said they valued her work at Fox.
@megynkelly good luck Megyn, you were probably the only person in the media (or politics for that matter) to land any punches on Trump
